Sue Eley has developed guidance and resources for Shared Lives schemes that are planning to support people living with Dementia.  The guidance and resources can be downloaded by clicking on the green download button. The guidance pack includes:
 
A guide for Shared Lives schemes which covers: training Shared Lives carers and Shared Lives workers to have an understanding of dementia issues; training resources which are available; Recruiting Shared Lives carers to support people with dementia; working with existing family carers; and promoting the scheme’s dementia work to commissioners and care management teams. 
 
A guide to developing a dementia friendly environment which covers: developing a safe, well designed living space is a key part of providing the best care for people with dementia; and provides information on a number of things that can be done in the house to make it easier for the person living with dementia which are either low cost or free.
 
A series of factsheets which provide additional information on developing a dementia friendly:

Floors
