Ensure your provider profile is accurate and up to date on NHS choices!

Every registered care provider in England has a profile on NHS Choices. Nearly 9,000 provider locations have now registered themselves as profile editors on NHS Choices. However, only around 3,800 provider locations have actually added any information to their online profiles. This is a fraction of the care providers out there, which means that if you do add information to your profile, you will stand out from other providers in your area, particularly if you can persuade one or two people to leave some positive comments about your service! There are lots of care ratings websites out there, but almost all of the reputable ones carry information taken from NHS Choices provider profiles, so by completing your profile on Choices, you will get information about your service out to many more websites.

It is vital that you complete the basic information on your pages and keep them up-to-date. They offer you the opportunity to speak directly to the public, as well as commissioners and buyers of your services. The profiles are a valuable way of marketing and promoting your care service. They also offer these additional benefits:

  • They provide a way for you to receive constructive feedback to improve your service.
  • They provide information to other important information sharers, such as local councils, GPs and ratings websites.
  • They are an easy, at-a-glance source of information for people who need care, their carers and families.

Editing your profiles is simple to do. Just a few minutes spent adding some introductory text and making sure your contact information is accurate is worth the effort.

Guidance on updating your profile is available via the link below. Please email NHS Choices at the address below if you are having difficulties with editing or if there is anything preventing you from completing your profiles – they may be able to help.
